Strictly An Entertainment Show

Posted by: slync81 on: 20 November, 2008

I’m disgusted by the behaviour of some people over the whole John Sergeant controversy on Strictly Come Dancing.

I watch this series on and off because, while I love watching dancing, I am not really interested in watching z-listers trying to desperately win public support to help bolster their careers. I prefer to watch dance programmes [...]

X-Factor – Manipulation of the public

Posted by: slync81 on: 20 November, 2008

The X-factor started off promising this year – with a plethora of good singers and new judge to spice things up a bit. But all of that came crashing down when Daniel seemed to be staying in week after week and Laura got voted off.

It was an utter shock for me that Laura White went, [...]

Sugarbabes too busy for Tim-man?

Posted by: slync81 on: 8 October, 2008

It would seem that the Sugarbabes don’t really have an idea on how to prioritise their workload so that they can utilise opportunities that will benefit their career. They have turned down an offer, no sorry TWO offers, to collaborate with hit producer Timbaland because they are ‘too busy’.
Busy doing what?! What the hell can they be [...]

X-Factor Frenzy

Posted by: slync81 on: 15 August, 2008

It never ceases to amaze me how much the public can be manipulated by the money hungry. Never before has there been such an interest into the judging on X Factor, or Simon Cowell giving his glowing opinion on his fellow judges and new contestants yet there seems to be a media frenzy surrounding the whole [...]

A White Beyonce? She’s not worth it

Posted by: slync81 on: 14 August, 2008

I am absolutely DISGUSTED that the latest ad campaign by L’oreal features a picture of the most talented, popular and iconic black woman in the entertainment industry with strawberry-blonde hair and white skin. I am even more shocked that Beyonce has allowed herself to appear in the media looking bleached and washed out to advertise a [...]

i-maddness!

Posted by: slync81 on: 15 July, 2008

The latest i-phone came out this last week and, as usual, the i-phone mega-fans and gadget maniacs surfaced to queue for hours to be the first the get their hands on one.
Now, while I love gadgets, I cannot understand how people justify queuing for days, sometimes in the rain or freezing temperatures to be the first [...]

Dare 2 Dance

Posted by: slync81 on: 13 July, 2008

I was surprised to see some acquaintances of mine at the Dare 2 Dance event at Southbank today, though I suppose I shouldn’t have been. They, and their youth group, Vanity, had performed earlier in the day and were watching the other groups while waiting for the announcement of the winners.
It was really good to see all the [...]

Fussy Kiss Watchers

Posted by: slync81 on: 25 June, 2008

A Heinz advert, that depicts two men kissing has caused a sitr. One of men makes the children’s breakfasts/lunch as then demands a kiss from the other man before he leaves for work (so in effect he is in the position of a wife).
Now, I did see this ad and thought it was funny, because you [...]

X-ing off

Posted by: slync81 on: 7 June, 2008

So… Sharon Osbourne has decided not continue with the X-Factor.
About time.
Its not that I dislike the woman, in fact I think she’s a very good personality for television. She’s light-hearted, has a good sense of humour, is fun, fair and sensitive to others’ feelings. But was she right for x-factor?
